Everyday Cleaning of Silhouette Shades
Another benefit of Silhouette shades is that they’re easy to maintain. To keep cleaning and care simple, Silhouette shade fabric is treated with a proprietary process that optimally repels dust, soil and stains. For everyday cleaning of your Silhouette window shadings you can lightly dust your shades with a feather duster. You can also gently vacuum your shades with the brush attachment that comes with most vacuums. To clean in between the vanes, use compressed air or try a hair dryer set on cool to blow dust away. If spot cleaning is needed, use a soft cloth or sponge moistened with lukewarm water. Another tip for everyday cleaning: If your shade gets wrinkled, you can steam the wrinkles out with a hand-held travel-size steamer.
Deep Cleaning Silhouette Shades
To keep your Silhouette shades looking new, you can also have them professionally cleaned. We recommend two professional cleaning methods. First is professional ultrasonic cleaning, best used for shades that are heavily soiled. Ultrasonic cleaning takes the shade and dips it into a tank of warm water and mild detergent and then sound waves are used to clean the fabric. Another option is an injection/extraction cleaning system. This method of cleaning injects a cleaning solution into the fabric and immediately extracts the dirty solution. This service is usually done in the home so there is no need to remove the shade from the window.
