Many people are often surprised to discover that color traverses all industries; for example, the color that’s popular in fashion is also trending in home décor. But once you know the secret, you’ll see it everywhere. And the folks who predict what that color will be name one each year. At Windows & More, we’re always excited to hear what the new Pantone Color Institute Color of the Year is. And we’re even more excited to share it with you. Once you’ve been introduced, start looking around—you’ll see the year’s color literally everywhere.
This Year, Look for Classic Blue
The Pantone Color Institute has named Classic Blue as the color to look for in 2020. It hearkens back to the first Color of the Year, which was chosen in 1999: Cerulean. As you’ll recall, in 1999, we were all hearing about Y2K and how the changing of the calendar would bring destruction to the world. Or at least our computers. So in that era, Cerulean was selected because it offered stability. And this year’s blue offers similar reassurance: as instability grips the world, people look to something that will bring confidence and connection. “It’s a color that anticipates what’s going to happen next,” said Laurie Pressman, the vice president of the Pantone Color Institute. “What’s the future going to bring as we move into the evening hours?”
